Dr. Rohit Gutgutia has been practising reproductive medicine for over 20 years. A graduate of Medical College, Calcutta, he went on to complete advanced IVF training at Herzliya Medical Centre in Israel under the guidance of leading mentors.
Early in his career, he was recruited to set up and lead a new IVF unit with the freedom to design and run the clinic end to end. Those formative years shaped both his clinical judgement and his approach to patient care. He often says the first couples he treated were his greatest teachers, helping him refine his practice while deepening his empathy for the emotional reality of infertility.
Through these experiences, he moved from the mindset of a gynaecologist to that of a fertility physician. For him, the difference is clear: gynaecology often assumes conception as expected, while fertility medicine recognises how fragile it can be. Each case is shaped by gamete quality and biology’s unpredictable X factor, which makes guiding patients through setbacks, failed cycles, and losses as important as the science itself.
Over time, Dr. Gutgutia recognised the need for a new model of care, one that combines clinical excellence with structure, clarity, and patient-first support. That thinking became a key part of Ikivana’s vision, a platform designed to bridge global patients with India’s leading fertility expertise.
Through Ikivana, Dr. Gutgutia champions a holistic approach to fertility care that goes beyond procedures to include time, listening, mental and physical preparation, and practical financial guidance. His enduring belief is simple: even with setbacks and uncertainty, the journey to parenthood, however long, is always worth the wait.
