Dr. Ajantha Boopathi

Book a Consultation:

Short Biography

Dr. Ajantha is a fertility specialist and gynaecologist with nearly two decades of experience in Reproductive Medicine. She holds MBBS, MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology), DGO and MRCOG (UK), along with advanced training in reproductive medicine and embryology from Germany, and Fellowship training in Minimal Access Surgery. She is also fully registered with the UK GMC and has specialised British Fertility Society certifications in pelvic ultrasound, assisted conception, and IUI and embryo transfer.

A defining chapter of her career was her clinical work in the United Kingdom, where she trained and practised within the NHS before joining London Women’s Clinic in Harley Street and Canterbury. During this period, she independently managed a fertility clinic end to end, including consultations, scanning, investigations, treatment planning, cycle monitoring, and clinical decision-making. She also performed key fertility procedures such as egg retrievals, embryo transfers, IUI, and HyCoSy, while staying closely engaged in clinical governance, audit, and quality standards.

Over time, Dr. Boopathi’s approach has become anchored in a simple belief: fertility medicine must combine precision with steadiness. Biology carries an unpredictable element, and patients often need as much clarity and calm as they need protocols. Supporting them through changing plans, failed cycles, and long waiting periods requires time, listening, and a structured plan they can trust.

Alongside clinical practice, she remains deeply committed to academic rigour, leadership, and teaching. She has published and presented research, led audits on outcomes and consent standards, drafted clinical SOPs, and mentors clinicians and fellows in counselling, scans, and procedures. She also plays an active leadership role within the fertility community, including serving as Treasurer of the Indian Fertility Society, Tamil Nadu Chapter.

Through Ikivana, Dr. Boopathi supports a patient-first model of fertility guidance that combines international experience with practical clarity and compassionate counselling. Her goal is to help patients feel informed, prepared, and emotionally steadier at every step, so the journey to parenthood, however complex, feels more navigable and less overwhelming.
